Wanda Marie Fleece was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Katherine Rider and John William Fleece. Both parents died when she was young and she grew up in the homes of various relatives, including that of her older sister, Louise. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1939 with emphasis on commercial studies and later worked as a bookkeeper in construction and insurance companies.

On June 12, 1948 she married Earl Culbertson Neagley, a Navy shipfitter during WWII who then worked as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel. They had one son, Daniel Lee Neagley, born in 1954, and purchased a home in the town of Highspire, Pennsylvania. They both enjoyed singing in the choir of their local church.

The family moved from to Albuquerque in 1962 where Earl worked for ACF and later GE, and Wanda worked as a salesperson at Fedway/Dillards. They were long-time members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where they both volunteered and she became a church deacon.

Wanda loved the simple pleasures of flower gardening, reading, searching out antiques, cooking, sharing meals and conversation with friends, and nurturing her own cats and dogs as well as the neighborhood strays. She cared for her father-in-law and sister Eloise at home for many years. After Earl's death in 2005, Wanda and her cats Kitten and later Sniffy became beloved residents at Brookdale Valencia. She recently celebrated her 96th birthday there. Wanda will be remembered for her smile, kindness, deep faith, generosity & especially her love for animals. She made friendships lasting over many decades and miles.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl C. Neagley; sisters Louise Ensinger and Eloise Stoltz; in-laws Anne Neagley Miller, Edward C. Miller Jr, Daniel Neagley and Kaye Crosbie; and niece Halle Stolz. She is survived by her son Daniel L. Neagley and daughter-in-law Susan Spaven of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law Margie Crosbie of California and Peggy Neagley of Pennsylvania; as well as several nephews, nieces, Sniffy and three granddogs.

A memorial service celebrating Wanda's life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque.

The family would like to thank the dedicated, caring friends and staff at Brookdale Valencia, Covenant Presbyterian and Hospice de La Luz. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wanda's memory can be made to Animal Humane New Mexico, 615 Virginia St. SE, Alb, NM 87108.
