Wayne E Maxwell II

Wayne E Maxwell II. Born on December 7, 1941 and left us peacefully and on his own terms on October 28, 2017. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Teresa M Maxwell and father to Dawn M Sanchez and her husband Sean A Sanchez and to Tammy C Bradford and her husband Charles D Bradford.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Verla Swehosky of Sisters, Oregon and a brother, Lawrence O Maxwell of Albuquerque, New Mexico and many family members who loved and adored Uncle "Ev". Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne E Maxwell and Nina E Maxwell and a brother, Lance Maxwell.

Wayne was a graduate of UNM, with Masters Degrees achieved in both History and Political Science after retiring from the USAF as a non-commissioned officer, and working with the FAA for more than twenty years. Wayne had a lifelong passion for the sport of Judo and the principles of Dr. Jigaro Kano, which he shared with practitioners who became some of his closest friends through his own dojo, Albuquerque Judokai. Wayne was a 6th Dan (Rokudan) and spent his life working towards the red and white belt. Wayne was also a member of Kiwanis Club of Coronado as President and Lieutenant Governor. In Wayne and Teri's spare time, travel was the essence of life. The couple also spent many summers at Lake Powell enjoying their houseboat, the MsTeri and later, the Okey Dokey.

The Maxwell family asks you to remember Wayne on December 7th, 2017 when he will be interned at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors. A celebration of life will be held at the family home on Dec. 9th, 2017.
