Willard Gillette, 78, born in Sheridan, WY and resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 2, 2017. Willard was known for his love of the outdoors, where he traveled frequently to hike and camp in several Western States, especially Wyoming, Montana and New Mexico. Before retirement, he obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, and spent nearly 30 years working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

After retirement, he started a consulting business and traveled all over the country working with different Native American Tribes, rebuilding schools, government buildings and road infrastructures. He also liked sports and traveling to many University of Wyoming football and basketball games to cheer on his beloved Cowboys. While growing up in Sheridan, he was an avid car fan; rebuilding, racing and showing several 'hot rod' cars. He was also very interested in metaphysics and liked to learn about different views on spirituality.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle Dieger and her husband Coleman, and his son Gavin. In keeping with Willard's wishes, cremation has taken place & there will be no services.
