William Anthony Bordone

William Anthony Bordone passed away December 9, 2017, aged 76 years old. Bill was born in 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Anthony and Inabel Bordone. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the army. He worked in intelligence for six years during the early 1960s and was stationed outside of London.

Bill graduated from The University of Illinois at Chicago. After graduating, he embarked on a distinguished career working for the US Postal Service. He began as one of a few participants in the government post office management program. He went on to serve as Philadelphia's first non-elected postmaster and retired as the regional postmaster of the Western United States. After retiring, he remained politically active and engaged in myriad community volunteering activities.

Bill was a life long photographer. He also enjoyed driving on long road trips, international travel, and was an avid reader. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend and an active advocate in the community. He will be missed.

He leaves behind his companion and travelling partner Betty Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico, his son Paul Bordone, daughter-in-law Sarah Jane Barlage, and grandchildren Lucy and Lincoln Bordone, of Danville, California. His parents and his brother, David Bordone, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, at 2 pm at Tanoan Country Club, 10801 Academy Rd. NE followed by a reception.
