Traylor, William C.



William C. Traylor died Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Albuquerque. Mr. Traylor was born in Council Bluffs, IA, raised in Urbandale, IA and Flint, MI, and graduated from Pratt Institute School of Industrial Design in Brooklyn, NY. From 1959 until his retirement in 1985, Mr. Traylor was employed by, and in 1977 became co-owner of the internationally-renown Industrial Design firm of Sundberg-Ferar, Inc. in Southfield and Walled Lake, MI. Projects Mr. Traylor had been associated with during his design career were: San Francisco's BART rapid transit train; the Washington Metro train; Atlanta's MARTA train, the Lockheed Tri-Star airline interiors and passenger accommodations as well as major appliance designs for Sears and Whirlpool Corps.

Mr. Traylor is survived by Alvin G. Logsdon, his partner of 44 delightful and rewarding years. Mr. Traylor was a 20 year resident of Albuquerque. Mr. Traylor will be remembered by his many friends in New Mexico and elsewhere for his wonderful sense of humor and remarkable stories told based on his many travels and experiences during a well-lived life.

Mr. Traylor's cremation is in the care of Neptune Society. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
