Yvette Hamilton

Yvette Reina Hamilton, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. She was a member of Rio Grande Calvary Chapel. Yvette graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor of arts in communication. She had a passion for writing and articulating words, which led her into a career in public relations. Yvette started her career with the State of New Mexico, where she did public relations for the Office of the State Engineer. In 2006, she moved to Houston, TX, where she flourished in the big city. In Houston, Yvette worked for Direct Energy, where at only 28 years old she became the youngest director in the entire company. At DE, Yvette was the Director of Corporate Responsibility for the entire North American operations, which included Canada. She was so talented in her writing, many of her publications were picked up by many media outlets, such as the Houston Chronicle and the New York Times. Through this experience, Yvette was able to travel the world and share her God given talents with so many. Yvette had an eye for fashion and was often asked to dress many of the elite socialites in Houston for special events. She loved to shop, dress, dance and entertain friends and family. Her beautiful life will be missed by so many.

Yvette was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Concepcion and Saturnino Chavez; and paternal grandfather, William E. Kinsey.

She is survived by her parents, Keith and Viola Kinsey; her brother, Eric and his children, Aubrianna and Andre Kinsey and their mother, Amanda Garley; her brother, Kurtis and his wife, Bridget and their children, Porsha, Hezekiah and Zedric; husband, Ron; sister and brother, Jessica and Jamar Poston from North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Gladys Kinsey; aunts and uncles who were very special to her, especially Auntie Clarita and Uncle Del who were kindred spirits. Yvette and her Uncle Del bonded ever since she was a baby. She is also survived by her many cousins who she loved very much; also her great-aunts, Cande Gonzales, Berna Lucero, Soila Moya, Ermelina and Alejo Ortega; and great uncle, Julian Zamora. Yvette is also survived by her beloved and loyal dog, Oxford, who she considered her baby.

My beautiful daughter, your time on earth was so short but full of life. We thank our God and Savior that he gave you to us. You had a love for Christ since you were a little girl, something that was encouraged by her Nana Conchita. Your faith grew stronger, especially these last few years. Thank you Yvette for giving us 36 wonderful years. You enriched our lives with your faith, laughter, beauty and generosity. We now release you into the embrace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with Nana Conchita, Tata Junior and all those who were there, ready to take you home.

All services will be held at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley on Thursday, February 8, 2018. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
