Barbara Halsten Obituary
Barbara Halsten, 83, passed away on September 2nd, 2015.
She was predeceased by her father: Edwin Starnes and her mother: Juanita Starnes; and sister: Rozalyn Douglass.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years: James Halsten; daughter: Kimberly Mora; son-in-law: John Paul Mora; sister-in-law: Joanne Stoker; brother-in-law: George Stoker; nephew: Mike Stoker; sister-in-law: Janis Weeks; nephews: David, Don, Daryl and Dan Weeks.
She graduated from Georgia Southwestern Junior College in Americus, GA in 1952, and Barrett School of Nursing in Augusta, GA in 1955. Barbara served active duty Air Force with Lieutenant rank at the air base hospital in Marrakech, Morocco and Madrid, Spain. She retired from NM State Nursing in 1997, and quickly joined the womens' golf association at two city golf courses. She loved playing golf, as well as tending to her roses and flowers and playing bridge. Barbara had many, many friends because she was such a great friend.
Barbara's Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Reflection of Life Chapel, 2400 Washington St. NE.
