George Lujan, age 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2015 at his home in Lemitar with his family by his side. He was born in Taos, NM on February 22, 1948 to Isidoro and Aurora Martinez Lujan. George grew up in Penasco, NM and joined the US Navy after his junior year in high school. He met the love of his life and after a whirlwind romance he married Tina Martinez in 1971 on Easter Sunday.

George worked for Rainbow Bread for over 30 years. His opening a franchise brought he and Tina to Socorro, NM. He was quite the businessman and enjoyed people. George and Tina bought the laundry mat in Socorro and had a convenient store along with it. They later owned and operated Tina's Restaurant for many years. George enjoyed hunting and loved to play golf. He was strong in his faith and a dedicated family man. George will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. George is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Tina Martinez Lujan; his loving daughter, Veronica Lujan-Lowe; loving son, George M. Lujan; sisters, Veda (Jerry) Johnson, Elsie (Ralph) Conway, Ramona Reyes, Diana (Don) Haynes, and Eileen Lujan; brothers, Leo (Angie) Lujan, Orlando (Christine) Lujan; grandchildren, Brandon A. Lowe, Desiree Anaya, Angel Anaya, Jasmine Johnson, Andrew Lujan, and Alexis Lujan; great-granddaughter, Aubri M. Acosta.

The Holy Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 8:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated immediately following at 8:30 am. Celebrant Father Andrew Pavlak. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Manuel Pacheco, Anthony Lujan, Edwin Lujan, David Naranjo. Honorary Pallbearers are Veronica Lujan-Lowe, George M. Lujan, Brandon A. Lowe, Desiree Anaya, Angel Anaya, Jasmine Johnson, Andrew Lujan, Alexis Lujan, Aubri M. Acosta. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in George's honor to the Presbyterian Cancer Center. To view information or leave a condolence, please visit
