Beilman, Betty Mae (Werner)



Betty Mae (Werner) Beilman passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, days after her 85th birthday. She was born November 13, 1930 in Syracuse, Kansas to Robert Bernard Werner and Golda Mae (Aldrich) Werner.

She married William Philip Beilman on December 28, 1949. They had nine children: SuzAnne, Patricia, James William, Carol, William, Anthony, Catherine, Richard, and Joseph. Betty earned her nursing degree from the University of Albuquerque in May of 1973 and completed the nurse practitioner's program at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1978. She practiced nursing at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque for 30 years as a wound care specialist, a head nurse, and medical surgery specialist. In retirement, she relocated to Angel Fire, New Mexico and actively supported the development of the Gateway Museum.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, her parents, her three siblings, and three of her children. She has sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. To them, she remains their "Grandma Betty."

Services will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Albuquerque, on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Reception will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Betty Beilman to: Gateway Museum, P.O.
