Rachael Frazier Obituary

Rachael Rae Frazier

There are few people who come into this world with the ability to touch the hearts and lives of others in a special and unique way. Some are blessed with beauty inside and out, others have the gift of quick wit

and humor, some have love and compassion for people and animals â€" especially those suffering in any way, but very few are blessed with all of these qualities and more. Rachael was one of the few. She was a "Rae" of sunlight to many who knew her.

Rachael Rae Frazier was born in Albuquerque in December, 1985 to Glenn and Ina Frazier. Early on, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. From her youth, Rachael developed a curious, adventurous, and independent nature that would lead her down interesting and sometimes precarious paths.

Rachael loved going camping and hiking with family and friends at her family's northern New Mexico mountain hideaway. Having attended Emmanuel Lutheran and Hope Christian Schools, Rachael was active in school plays, gymnastics, track, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cheer leading â€" and she loved to go snowboarding! In her Jr. year, she transferred to a charter school where she was salutatorian of her class, graduating a year early.

During her Mid-High and High School years, Rachael worked as a nanny and with the Bernalillo County Youth Program â€" as she loved children and had a special way with them. She also worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Student Intern.

After attending UNM for a year, Rachael moved to the west coast to become a "California Girl" â€" a dream of hers since

early childhood. While in California, her love of the ocean drew her to take up surfing, wake-boarding, and she even learned flying yoga.

Devastated by the death of her beloved brother, Walter, in 2007, Rachael struggled to find her way. Then in 2012, she was seriously injured in a fall from 40 â€" 50 feet. After multiple surgeries and some physical rehabilitation, her parents brought her home to Albuquerque. Initially, Rachael's

strength, resilience, and determination dominated her suffering â€" but eventually, in the years following her accident, she became increasingly discouraged, as unrelenting, debilitating pain and other complications made it impossible for her to participate in any of the things she loved. She eventually lost hope of ever having any quality of life or a future and sadly, tragically, ended her life on October 20, 2018. It is our great hope that she is finally resting in peace.

Rachael was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Walter. She is survived by her parents, Glenn and Ina; her grandmother, Doris; several aunts, uncles, cousins; her boyfriend Tim, and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque at 4001 Osuna Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 at 10:00am on Friday, November 9th followed immediately by a Celebration of Life in the Hub at Calvary Chapel.

Her family asks that you spend more time with your children, take walks with your loved ones, make a commitment to enduring friendships, and know that God loves you enough to send his son Jesus to die for you. That is what Rachael "Rae" would want.
