From John Cunniff's Premience family...
We are deeply saddened that John Cunniff, a co-founder of Premience Energy LLC, and a colleague passed away Friday, May 3rd, 2024. John was diagnosed with a virulent form of brain cancer six months ago. We lost a friend, an esteemed colleague, an immense compendium of knowledge relating to log analysis and petrophysics, but most of all an enthusiastic member of our founding team with a "do-it-all" attitude who managed our field operations at the West Tepetate field.
John was instrumental in locating the West Tepetate opportunity and convincing the Premience team to develop a largely dormant mature field since the 1960s into a producing field with four new drills and several re-entries. John helped build a dedicated team of local service providers and consultants who continue to support our field activities. John was well-known in the Lafayette region for his knowledge of the oil and gas industry and will be missed by all.
The LeBlanc#1 well, shown with John at the well head, was drilled in late 2018. One of his favorite wells, it came with initial production rates of 600 bbls/day of Louisiana light sweet crude oil.
Our heartfelt sympathy is with Susan who we all got to know as a special light in John's life and who always welcomed us into their home.

Our deepest sympathies to your family. John was such a nice man. We walked our dogs in Oaklawn Park for so many years and he was such a funny and intelligent man. I always enjoyed visiting with him. I will keep you in my prayers, rest in peace John.... I´m sure your puppies are waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge!
