Terri Kane Humphrey(1953 - 2018)

Terri Kane Humphrey died peacefully at home with her loving husband and partner Dick at her bedside on Aug. 14, 2018, after an incredible struggle with a rare and aggressive cancer.
Terri was born in Yuba City, Calif., on April 4, 1953, the youngest child of Anita and John Kane. She graduated from Woodland High School and later obtained training as a paralegal in Denver, Colo. She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1975, and then settled in Anchorage, Alaska, where she resided until her recent retirement from the Gruenstein Hickey law firm, where she worked for more than 23 years.
In 1988, Terri married the love of her life, Dick Humphrey. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on the California coast shortly before her death. Terry and Dick were partners not only in marriage, but in life. Their many, many adventures in Alaska will provide memories for so many who were privileged to know and love her.
Terri was a kind soul who could not bear the thought of causing harm to any living thing. To be blindsided by this cancer was an insult she bore with grace, and she was at peace with her fate at the time of her death. She knew she was deeply loved and would be missed.
She is predeceased by her father, John Kane. Survivors include her loving husband, Dick; mother, Anita Belle Kane; brother, Tom Kane and wife Tracey; sisters, Joanne Kaiser and Janice McDonald; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. And last, but not least, her beloved fur babies, Josie and Daisy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the home of Valerie Oliver, 11840 Toy Drive in Anchorage. Please RSVP to [email protected]. Memorial donations may be made in Terri's memory to your local SPCA.
