Boris Rodeon Kosbruk, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on September 29, 2013 in Perryville AK. He was 76 years old.

Boris was born in Chignik Lagoon to Emil and Sophie Kosbruk on June 25, 1937. He grew up hunting, trapping, and commercial fishing. He joined the Army and was Honorably discharged in 1961. He married his wife of 49 years, Evelyn Andre, on October 3, 1964. They had seven children, which they raised at Perryville. They spent their summers in Chignik Lagoon where Boris commercial fished on a boat, which he owned, the FV "Lady Evelyn", his sons and nephews were his crew.

Boris, was a natural born leader who cared about his people and land. He wanted to make a difference in this world and he did. Over the years Boris served on many boards; the Bristol Bay Native Corporation, Bristol Bay Native Association, Bristol Bay Housing Authority, Lake and Peninsula School District, Native Village of Perryville Tribal Council, Alaska Native Foundation, Oceanside Corporation, Peter Pan Seafoods, Chignik Boat Owners Association, United Bank of Alaska, and Chignik Seafood Producers Alliance. He also owned and operated a store in Perryville since 1968.

He leaves his six sons: Gerald and Rene, Patrick and Diane, Mark and Gerda, Curt and Oxcenia, Chris, Boris Jr. and Jadine; his daughter, Bernice and Andrew; grandchildren: Eric, Katlynn, Analise, Daniel, Avery, Joshua, Mark Jr., Lillionna, Ian, Evan, Elena, Preston, Layla, Ty, Devin, Audrey, Sallena, Ryan, Naomi, Evelyn, Sophia; brother, Timothy Kosbruk, and sister, Agnes Larson.

He was preceded by his parents, Emil and Sophie Kosbruk; brothers, Moses Kosbruk Sr., Christopher Kosbruk; sister, Alice Kosbruk; daughter, Lena Kosbruk; nephews, Moses Kosbruk Jr., Albert Larson; brother in laws, Richard Larson Sr., Alfred Andre Sr., William Lind Sr., Andrew Lind Sr., Fred Lind Sr., and sister in law, Jenny Seybert.

Services for Boris will be at St. John Orthodox Church in Perryville, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m., Father Michael Trefon will be presiding. He will be laid to rest at Perryville Cemetery. Memory Eternal.
