Branden Michael Brouhard, 31, of Anchorage, died unexpectedly May 20, 2011, at his residence.

A private celebration of life will be held. In keeping with Branden's wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered over the mountains in Valdez.

Branden was born February 22, 1980, in Anchorage to Harold and Selma Brouhard. He was a graduate of Valdez High School and Price William Sound Community College. Currently, Branden was attending the University of Alaska, Anchorage studying a degree in economics with a focus in business. He also worked at the university in the athletic department.

He enjoyed snowboarding, cooking, fishing, hunting, and was passionate about politics.

His family states, "Branden was a loving son, brother, and friend with a smile that would light up your life. Words cannot describe the void he has left in our lives and the depth of our love for him."

He is survived by his parents, Harold "Tuck" and Selma Brouhard of Twin Lake, Mich.; brother, Jeremy "Tuck" Brouhard of Anchorage; family pet, Maggie; grandmother, Elna Jean Johnson of Hesperia, Mich.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Natalie Brouhard, Walter Johnson; and cousin, Michael Van Pelt.
