Brent Michael Kapansky, age 39, was called home to be with the Lord passing away unexpectedly from a medical condition on Jan. 18, 2016, in his home. He was born on June 13, 1976, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Paul and Gayle Kapansky. He graduated from Service High School in 1994, and went on to receive his Bachelors in Accounting in 2005, and Masters in Business in 2009 from Alaska Pacific University. Brent worked as an Accountant at the Foraker Group helping serve the nonprofit sector from 2010 through 2015. Brent was a member of the Anchorage Baptist Temple and served as a church usher for 17 years. Brent loved anything Star Wars and was both technologically creative and a clever gamer, who was in the works of developing an online gaming program. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a die hard Patriots fan. One of his happiest moments in life was going to the Super Bowl to see his beloved Patriots play. He had a keen sense of humor, was a loyal friend, and was dedicated to his family - he will always be carried in our hearts. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Gayle Kapansky; his sister and brother-in-law, BethAnne Kapansky Wright and Eric Wright; his aunts and uncles on his father and mother's side; and many cousins on both sides. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m., in the VIP room at the Anchorage Baptist Temple, 6401 East Northern Lights Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Brent's name to the two nonprofits he worked most closely with: Bean's Cafe, 1101 East 3rd Ave., Anchorage, AK 99501; and Shiloh Community Housing, 1928 Juneau St., Anchorage, AK 99508. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
