Brian Joseph Tomes died at home on July 19, 2011, he was born on July 2, 1966 at Fairchild AFB, Washington to Danny Tomes and Kathryn Cooksey (Kaminski) when he was just about 2 years old they moved up to Alaska. Danny and Kathryn also had another son together Jefffrey Damon Tomes, after Danny and Kathryn divorced she married Lou Kaminski and had a son Tim Kaminski,

He graduated from Save High School in 1984. In 2000 he met his current wife Taren Peltola and they were married on October 8, 2006. Although Brian never had children of his own he took on the responsibility of raising Taren's two children Kurtis and Kayde Kemp.

Brian's love of the outdoors and his talent of having a green thumb brought his passion for having the most greenest lawn and the best garden. He was so proud of his lawn. Everyone complimented him on having such a beautiful lawn it always put a smile on his face. His other passion was moose hunting up at his mom's.

Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Helen Cooksey, his favorite uncle Stanley Rydberg, his Uncle David Cooksey, father and mother in law Ronald and Geraldine Peltola, his uncle Robert Cooksey who passed away two days later on July 21, 2011 and his father Danny Tomes.

He is survived by his mom Kathryn Kaminiski , his second mom Brenda Arney , brothers Jeffrey Tomes , Timothy Kaminski (Emily Schepis) , Niece Harmony Tomes, great niece Collette Tomes, Aunts and Uncles Laurie and Ron Derybowski, Lisa and Doug Jones, Mary and Ed Pleskin, his wife Taren Peltola, stepchildren Kurtis and Kayde Kemp, sister in law Dana Peltola , Dorine Newman (Terry Newman) , Kari Peltola (Kirk Gunther) , Ronda Peltola (Dave Miller), Gary Peltola (Bernadette Chaney) and many Aunts and Cousins, nieces and nephws too numerous to mention.

Memorial Services for Brian will be held at his home in Wasilla, Ak at 300 W Crestwood Ave on Saturday July 30th at 1:00p.m. Potluck/BBQ to follow.
