Clifton Lee Hayes, Jr.(Cliffe), 39 of Seward, Alaska passed away May 8, 2012. The cause of death is undetermined at this time.

A private service will be held Wednesday, May 16.

Clifton was born to Clifton and Donna Hayes, Sr. of Seward, Alaska on April 6, 1973 in Peoria, Illinois. He attended school in Seward through his junior year when he moved with his family to Washington, Illinois where he attended Washington Community High School. He worked for Icicle Seafoods in the 1980's in Seward, Alaska. He returned to Alaska in the mid-1990's to become a commercial fisherman. He worked on many boats throughout his life. He loved to fish spending most of his life outdoors. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, snow-machining, camping, but his passion in life was fishing.

His family wrote: "He was a loving, sweet brother, son, uncle, grandson and friend with a generous heart. If someone was in need of help, he would go out of his way to help them and not expect anything in return."

Clifton is survived by his parents, Clifton and Donna Hayes; his grandmother, Maxine Hayes; his sister, Carrie Baker(Rick Broughton); his nephew, Brett Campbell; his niece, Ashley Campbell; and his great nephew, Hayden Campbell, all of Seward; his aunts and uncles, Marsha and Paul Rolih, Joliet, IL; Jeanne and Roy Bienemann, Sr., Washington, IL; his dear cousin/Friends, Roy Bienemann, Washington, IL and Amanda Merkel, Anchorage, AK; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Clifton Homer Hayes and maternal grandmother, Betty Lou Crouts.
