He earned his engineering degree from University of Alaska Anchorage, and was a partner in Polarconsult Alaska. In 2011, he married his beloved wife, Loretta Ann Wolski.
David had a curious mind and loved working in his garage, fixing, creating and experimenting. He also enjoyed all forms of skiing, from snow to water, and in the past was active in the Personal Watercraft Club of Alaska.
David is survived by his father, Earle V. (Sally) Ausman; uncles, Barry (Gail) Ben-Zion and Melvin (Gail) Ausman; mother-in-law, Caroline Wolski; brother-in-law, Michael (Karen) Wolski; sister-in-law, Marie (Michael) Stehmer; and nieces and nephews, Katherine Wolski, Sarah Wolski, Nicholas Wolski, Christopher Wolski, Theresa Stehmer Brown, Brittany Stehmer and Jeremy Wolski.
