David Earle Ausman passed away in Anchorage, Alaska, at Providence Hospital on Dec. 4, 2018. Born in Anchorage on Jan. 16, 1967, David was a life-long Alaskan, attending Lake Otis Elementary, Wendler Junior High, and graduating from East High School, where he made many life long friends. He earned his engineering degree from University of Alaska Anchorage, and was a partner in Polarconsult Alaska. In 2011, he married his beloved wife, Loretta Ann Wolski.
David had a curious mind and loved working in his garage, fixing, creating and experimenting. He also enjoyed all forms of skiing, from snow to water, and in the past was active in the Personal Watercraft Club of Alaska.
David is survived by his father, Earle V. (Sally) Ausman; uncles, Barry (Gail) Ben-Zion and Melvin (Gail) Ausman; mother-in-law, Caroline Wolski; brother-in-law, Michael (Karen) Wolski; sister-in-law, Marie (Michael) Stehmer; and nieces and nephews, Katherine Wolski, Sarah Wolski, Nicholas Wolski, Christopher Wolski, Theresa Stehmer Brown, Brittany Stehmer and Jeremy Wolski.
His mother, Siena Dik Ausman, preceded him in death, as did his wife, Loretta; father-in-law, Edward Wolski; and brother-in-law, John Wolski.
A remembrance will be held on David's birthday, Jan. 16, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Janssens's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage.
