Dustin Kekoa Utoafili, age 26, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Nov. 30, 2016, in Issaquah, Wash.
Dustin was born May 8, 1990, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Tini and Denise Baker Utoafili. In 1994, his family moved to Anchorage, where he was raised and attended Huffman Elementary School and privately home schooled. He later took course work and earned his Associates of Arts degree. Dustin loved Alaska and his many friends there.
Dustin was employed by Northwest Steelworks, LLC as an administrative assistant. He also enjoyed a second career as an independent esthetician, make-up artist and fashion consultant. His hobbies and interests included camping, dancing and spending time with his family. But it is more accurate to say his true passion was make-up and cosmetics, and more makeup and cosmetics! He loved his make-up and his spirit radiated even more beautifully when he was using his talents making others feel good about themselves, by giving them make-overs.
Dustin was a very caring, compassionate and loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was our family's joy. He is survived by his parents, Tini and Denise Utoafili of Anchorage; his brother, Kini Utoafili; his sisters, Teena-Marie Pili and Liana Asi; and a host of loving family; his extended Hawaiian and Samoan families; and his family of friends. He cherished his family time and the special moments when he could play with and counsel his beloved nieces and nephews.
Dustin always had a loving way of putting a smile on everybody's face. Dustin was and will always be the best person we have ever known. He was bigger than life itself, for his love truly had no limits. He will be greatly missed and he will always be loved and remembered by his family and friends.
To live in the hearts of those you loved is not to die. He was our hero and now he is our angel - We love you Dustin.
Memorial services were held at Flintofts Funeral Home, Issaquah, Wash. Additional celebrations of his life will be held in Hawaii and Alaska at a later date. Friends are invited to share memories, view photos and sign the family's online guestbook at www.flintofts.com.
