Anchorage resident Francisco Alcover Borromeo, 70, died March 24, 2011, at home due to lung cancer and emphysema.

A service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. Father Ben Torrento will officiate. The cremated remains will be taken back home to Cebu, Philippines.

Francisco was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Carcar, Cebu, Philippines. A college graduate, he moved to Alaska in January of 2000. He worked in the United Nations Development Program, at Sam's Club and for the Anchorage School District.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Perla Borromeo; sons, Ceasar, Julius and Ranesis; daughter, Theresa; daughters-in-law, Antonette and Rowena; grandchildren, Kaiser, Raphael, Cezanne, Zildjian, Zimba, Zangief, Zaa, Francis Therese, Francis Xavier, Elijah, and Ezekiel; sisters Angeuna Manuel of Arkansas, Leonora May of Indiana, Sylvia Hill of Indiana, Socorro Oliverio of the Philippines, and Estelita Caete of the Philippines; and brother Renato Borromeo of the Philippines.
