Frank William James Neeley, Age 88, long time resident of Anchorage, died July 2, 2014, of cancer at Marlow Manor.

He was born May 1, 1926, in Delleker, California, to and Joy and George Albert Neeley. He married Juanita Yanda, July 16, 1945 in Goldfield Nevada, when he was stationed at the Army Air Corps base in Tonopah, Nevada. He was trained as a ball turret gunner on B-24 Liberator Bomber. The war ended before he could be sent overseas. They lived in Wyoming and Colorado where Frank owned a gas station in Wheat Ridge. In 1956, he came to Alaska, followed later by Juanita to Fairbanks where their only child, James Frank, was born in 1958. In 1960, they moved to Anchorage with Industrial Air Products (later Air Liquide), where Frank worked until retiring in 1991.

Juanita preceded Frank in death, October 1972. August 22, 1973, Frank married Beverly Lee Van Cleve Boyer, the mother of five children. Frank enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, as well as traveling to Hawaii, Nevada, Mexico, and one cruise through the Panama Canal. In addition to fishing, his hobbies included polishing rocks for wind chimes and jewelry. In later years he and Bev were active in the and served as Grand Marshals for the annual Walk. After giving a Tootsie Pop to a resident at the Pioneer Home, it became his habit to hand out the candy everywhere he went in memory of those suffering from Alzheimer's.

He is survived by his wife, Bev; brother, Bruce; and two sisters, Sharon Law, and Grace Neeley; brother and sisters-in-law, Wyona Yanda Shipp, Eileen Yanda Wisroth, and Ray Yanda, including several nieces and nephews; son, Jim and daughter-in-law Gretchen Neeley; step-children Doug and Janet Boyer, Robb and Erin Donohue Boyer, Barb Boyer, and John Boyer; grandchildren, William Neeley, Jesseca Boyer, Seth Boyer, Rachel Boyer, Adam Boyer, Ryan Boyer, Sarah Boyer, Justin Prasil, Bonnie Lee Miller, Noah Boyer, Aaron Showalter, Todd Showalter; and 2 great-grandchildren.
