Genevieve Mary Scott, 83, went home to be with the Lord during the morning of Jan. 11, 2016. She passed away at home. She was born in Badger, Newfoundland, Canada, to a family of seven boys and four girls. Genevieve married Charles E. Scott Jr. in 1959, while he was in Air Force. They lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Washington before residing in Anchorage, Alaska. Gen retired in 1999, after 22 years at Hillcrest Children's Center. She will be remembered by the families and children she cared for. Her greatest love was her family. She was known by all as a nurturing, giving person and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gen is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Charles E. Scott Jr.; children, Gregory (Cynthia) Scott, Janet (Russ) Whitfield and David (Cindy) Scott; grandchildren, Charles and Christopher Scott, Morgan and Tress Whitfield and Sam and Josh Scott; and surviving sister, Mary Connors. Services are scheduled for Feb. 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Heritage Chapel, JBER Elmendorf, with interment following at the Alaska National Cemetery. JBER security restrictions require that you contact the family by Feb. 9, 2016, for attendance. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hillcrest Children's Center on Feb. 20, 2016, between 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Hospice, Covenant House or Salvation Army.
