Longtime Alaska resident Mr. Floyd Grant "Pat" Patterson, 68, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Chapel by the Sea, 14730 Turnagain Bluff Way in Anchorage. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery. A fellowship gathering with light refreshments will be held at the chapel immediately after the graveside service. Grant was born on Jan. 5, 1947, to Floyd Grant Patterson Sr. and Rachel Ann (Moudy) in Altoona, Pa. He arrived in Alaska, with his family, in 1952, and grew up on their homestead. His love for the outdoors and exploring took him all over the state, living in Palmer, Fairbanks and primarily in Anchorage. He also enjoyed sharing his many wonderful memories and stories of his years in Alaska. Grant had a curious mind, a fun-loving compassionate heart and a quirky sense of humor. In the later years of his life he came to realize that being right with God is the most important thing and desired to help others know God as well. Grant was a devoted father, loyal friend and believed that each day is a blessing and strived to live life to the fullest. He is survived by his daughters, Ursula, Dorothy and Brandi; and son-in-law, Kevin. Arrangements were cared for by the Anchorage Funeral Home. Please visit Grant's obituary and online guestbook at
