Spc. Jarrett P. Griemel, 20, died June 3, 2009, in Afghanistan. A visitation was Friday and a service was Saturday in Pasadena, Texas. He was born Nov. 23, 1988 in San Angelo, Texas. Jarrett graduated from La Porte High School in Texas in 2006 and then joined the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Candice Griemel of Fort Richardson; mother, Trena Dorsett and husband, Donnie of La Porte, Texas; father, Michael Griemel of Stonewall, La.; grandparents, Robert and Stella Griemel of St. Clair, Mo., Nedra and Richard Pruett, Eddie and Dardenella Childs; brothers, Chase Schallert and wife, Crystal, Jason Griemel of Gilbert, Ariz., and Brandon Griemel of Bourbon, Mo.; sister, Brianna Bearden; mother-in-law, Mary Hepburn of La Porte; father-in-law, John Hepburn of Pasadena, Texas; sister-in-law, Stacy Miller of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Curtis Christiana of Houston; step-father-in-law, Rayford Brown of La Porte; aunts and uncles, Tony Griemel of Arnold, Mo., Robert Griemel II of St. Louis, Mo., Cindy Carey of Sullivan, Mo., Sandy Kay of Sullivan; and numerous other family and friends.
