Joshua Leonard Broquet, 28, formerly of Anchorage, Alaska, was called to the Lord on Sunday morning, March 6, 2016, at his home in Nashville, Tenn. Joshua was born on Dec. 8, 1987, in Anchorage, the first born son of Bruce and Kathleen Broquet. Joshua attended Anchor Park Lutheran School and Anchorage public schools. Joshua graduated from the Alaska Career College with a certification in office IT in June 2014, and AVTECH - Alaska's Institute of Technology - with several IT program certifications in June 2015. He was employed as a Support Engineer by the StringFellow Technology Group in Nashville. Growing up in Alaska, Joshua enjoyed the outdoors, music, computers and playing cards with his family and friends. As he learned about life, Joshua lived in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alaska before finally returning to Tennessee last year. During his travels, Joshua always took Alaska with him. He called himself Joshua "Alaska" Broquet, an opener he used when meeting people for the first time and on his voice message. Joshua easily made friends and quickly had them wherever he went. While living in Nashville the first time, he met Savanna Brown and fell in love. After completing his technical school training in Alaska, Joshua returned to Nashville and asked Savanna to marry him. Savanna said yes! Joshua was happy and excited to begin a new chapter in his life. Joshua also adored Savanna's daughter, Karena. Joshua loved his new extended family in Nashville, and he was loved in return. Joshua is survived by father, Bruce L. (Dawn) Broquet; mother, Kathleen A. Broquet, both of Anchorage; brother, Mackenzie Broquet of New Orleans, La.; sister, Nicole Broquet of Austin, Texas; stepbrother, Gabe Agron; stepsister, Kimberly Agron, both of Anchorage; fiancee, Savanna Brown and her daughter, Karena Griffith of Nashville; grandparents, Ron and Nancy Broquet of Petoskey, Mich.; uncle, Ronald "Rick" Broquet of Clarkston, Mich.; cousin, Justin Broquet of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and many other relatives. A Celebration of Joshua's Life was held in the Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville on Thursday, March 10, 2016, and was attended by many family members and friends. Joshua's remains will be buried in Nashville this summer. No memorial service is planned in Alaska at this time, but if you knew Joshua, please contact the family directly, comment on Joshua's Facebook page or sign the guest book at to share your stories. Joshua never met a stranger, loved life and will be dearly missed by all.
