Kyle Douglas Northcutt died July 30, 2010, in Terrell, Texas.

His family wrote: "At age 24, on July 30, his recently deceased father's birthday, upon jubilantly completing nine blistering weeks of heavy equipment operator schooling in Wills Point, Texas (near Terrell, east of Dallas), Kyle's planned return to his family and a great job in Alaska the next day was changed by a tragic bulldozer accident at the school."

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, 2111 Muldoon Road, with a reception afterward at Snow Goose Restaurant, 717 W. Third Ave.

Kyle, the beloved son of Melvin Douglas and Carol Ann Northcutt, was born Sept. 11, 1985, at Elmendorf USAF Hospital in Anchorage.

Kyle attended Baxter Elementary, Wendler Junior High School and Bartlett High School. He found great joy in music, playing hockey, fishing, snowmachining, billiards, shooting, 4x4-ing, fabricating vehicles, hanging with friends and helping anyone who needed him. He was a big boy who loved big toys.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Carol; his adored 2-year-old son, Rocky Douglas Northcutt; his soulmate fiancee, Lori Ann Scott and her 9-year-old daughter, Ruth, whom he cherished and supported as his own and hoped to officially adopt; his brothers, Chris (Jen), Michael and Johnny; his sisters, Gabriella "Bre" Surles and Sheila; his nephew, Hunter Surles and nieces, Brighton Northcutt and Bella Surles; a very large loving extended family that spans the continent; and many cherished friends.

A memorial account for his children is at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union. Contributions must state "Gabriella Surles c/o Kyle Northcutt Memorial Account." Account #1542761, routing #325272021, wire transfer #1100015427610.
