Anchorage resident Lew Allen IV, 26, died March 31 ,2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

A service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at ChangePoint Church, 6689 ChangePoint Drive off Raspberry Road, with a celebration of life afterward at Tanglewood Lakes Golf Club, 11801 Brayton Drive.

Lew was born Dec. 13, 1983, in Anchorage. From the time he was a child, he was known for his loving nature and engaging personality.

He graduated from Dimond High School in 2002. He was a strong athlete, excelling in football, basketball, track, swimming, baseball and hockey. He also enjoyed a reputation as an excellent dancer. As an adult he enjoyed the mixed martial arts, fighting in the AFC welterweight class.

In September 2009, Lew married Sheena Brandon and they celebrated their honeymoon in Mexico in January. He had recently achieved his journeymen electrician certification through the IBEW/State of Alaska and was employed by Alcan Electric.

Lew was a man of faith who attended ChangePoint Church. Lew approached life with passion and conviction and always had a big smile, a big wet kiss and a huge hug for his many friends and family members. He is loved and will be deeply missed.

Lew is survived by his wife, Sheena Marie Allen and her two children, Savannah and Austin; his two children, Ashton Lew and Brandi Lea; parents, Lea Ann Allen and Lew Allen III; sister, Lindsey Allen; grandparents, Lila and Vernon Sycks of Wasilla; grandmother, Barbara Allen of Potomac Falls, Va.; aunts and uncles, Cary and Carol Sycks of Anchorage, Barbara (Fenton) and Frank Miller of Alexandria, Va., Marjorie and Rip Dauster of New Haven, Conn., Christie and Scott Jameson of Houston, Texas, and James and Kathy Allen of London, England. He is also survived by many cousins and many close friends.

Lew was recently preceded in death by his grandfather, Gen. Lew Allen Jr. of Potomac Falls, Va.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit Lew's children. Donations may be sent to the Lew Allen IV Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 232143, Anchorage 99523.
