Margaret "Maggie" Cecilia Belzer passed away on Oct. 20, 2015, at age 91, of natural causes. Maggie, born in Red Lodge, Mont., moved to Alaska from Lake Stevens, Wash., in 1974, making her home in Anchorage. She had careers with two phone companies, working for the city of Anchorage until she retired. Maggie was the published author of a children's book called "The Story of Samson, the Biggest Little Monkey," Her family writes, "Maggie was a devoted wife and was dedicated to her sons. She was unselfish and a true blessing to her husband, Larry." Maggie is survived by her husband, Larry; son, David; grandson, Sam; and granddaughters, Sarah and Angela. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Regis; and by her son, Stacy Belzer. There will be a memorial service on Oct. 24, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501. Father Stephen Moore will officiate. Maggie's ashes will later be scattered in Santa Barbara, Calif. Memorial bequests can be made to: The Stacy Oil Association, c/o David Belzer, 1100 Dexter Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109.
