Longtime Alaska resident Patricia Faye Stewart, 66, passed away August 1, 2013 at home in Wasilla.

A service will be held at LDS Colony Church, 9475 East Colony Way in Palmer, on Saturday August 10th at 3 p.m. Officiated by Bishop Weed.

Patricia was born November 5, 1946 in Klamath Falls Oregon to Marvin and Mary Kupers. After graduating from East High School, she graduated from Applied Science at UAA and was President of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Patricia's parents moved to Alaska in 1951 with 4 girls, homesteading on DeArmoun Road. She lived in Anchorage until 1989 where she worked on the Slope, did construction and worked for the State of Alaska. She then lived in Valdez until 1996 where she worked for the State of Alaska and was a medical transcriptionist. Moving to the lower 48 in 1996 where she continued as a medical transcriptionist and in 1999 began driving long haul trucks. Patricia retired in 2011 and in 2012 came home to Wasilla.

Patricia stayed involved in the community by being a member of Valdez Chamber of Commerce and Valdez Health Commission. She held a Boy Scout troop Committee Chair and Boy Scout Scholarship Fundraising Committee Chair. In her spare time Patricia enjoyed volunteer work, gardening, textile crafts and genealogy.

Patricia's family wrote" In good times and in bad, Pat always made it a point to smile, and to laugh every day."

She is survived by 3 sons and daughter in laws: Larry and Mellisa Cummings; Rodney and Linnea Cummings all of Wasilla; Daren and Tracy Cummings of Anchor Point; seven grandchildren: Kelli Harlow, Jenifer, Ceth, and Heather Cummings; Zack, Nick and Alex Simpson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
