Wasilla resident, Robert Dayton Belman, 42 died July 22, 2012 in Anchorage.

A service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 4 at the Moose Lodge #1534, 4211 Arctic Blvd. Anchorage. A Celebration of Life will follow the service to share stories and remembrances.

Rob was born October 22, 1969 in Lansing, Michigan. He has made Alaska his home since 1981. He worked as a Carpenter with NMS staffing at the Bornite Mine, as an oil rig worker on the North Slope with Nabors/Doyon and has been self employed as a carpenter since 1990. He married Jennifer Belman on July 27, 2007. He especially enjoyed the arrivals of his grandkids and lived for the time spent with them being their Papa.

His family wrote: "Rob has a heart the size of Alaska and a sense of humor to match. Rob held a special place in his heart for animals, children and seniors. He was always willing to help those around him in need. Rob is loved dearly by all who knew him and will be missed more than life itself"

Rob is survived by his wife, Jeni Belman, Anchorage; parents, Jean and Bob Belman, Big Lake; brother, Shawn Belman, Anchorage; niece, Jamie Bates, Anchorage; stepson, Mike Brewer, Anchorage; step-daughter, Gina Smith, Anchorage; three grandchildren, Sydnie Brewer, Alora Smith and Derek Brewer, all of Anchorage; aunts, Mary Murphy and Marlene Nyitray, both of Michigan and uncles, Dan, Joe, and Elmer Belman, and Marty, Lewis, Mike and Merle, all of Michigan.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Judy Kendall.
