Anchorage resident, Robert Dale Heyne, 62, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, at his residence. Services will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the AMVETS Post 49. 9191 Old Seward Highway, Unit 9, Anchorage. Robert was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Santa Ana, California. He came to Alaska in October 1992, and worked as a bartender at the American Legion Post 28 and AMVETS Post 49. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, food and cooking. His family wrote: "Robert's infectious smile and passion for life will be greatly missed by all who knew him." Robert is survived by his son, Matthew Heyne of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; mother, Gwen and her husband, Don McDowell of Long Beach, Wash.; sister, Ginger McDowell of Portland, Ore.; and brother, Mark Heyne of Kauai, Hawaii. He is preceded in death by his father, Darrel Heyne; and sister, Melanie Heyne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Robert's memory to AMVETS Post 49, 9191 Old Seward Highway #9 Anchorage, Alaska. Robert's cremated remains will be scattered in Kauai, Hawaii to rest with his father and sister. Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Alaska. Words of comfort can be shared at
