Thomas Luke went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, in Seattle, Wash. Tom was born on Aug. 13, 1965, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 50 years old and the son and grandson of the late Anthony and Mary Luke and Thomas and Elsie Luke of St. Mary's, Alaska. He loved to hunt, fish and camp. Many summers were spent at fish camp downriver on the Lower Yukon and hunting in and around St. Mary's and Nome, Alaska. Tom worked as a commercial and subsistence fisherman and at Norton Sound Health Corporation and the Nome Grocery store. Tom was a humble and caring man; he gave what little he had to family and friends without expectation of return. His daily prayers in the morning and night were for family. Tom's laughter and quick wit will be dearly missed. We know that he will be watching over us from heaven with his beautiful smiling eyes. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; uncle, Edward Luke; cousin/brother, Ronald Luke; cousin, Frank Hunter Jr.; and his best friend, Mike Paukan. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Andrew with brother-in-law Tony of Anchorage and Helen Luke of Nome; brother, Glen Luke of Henderson, Nev.; nephews and nieces, Tyler and Rinnah Andrew, Jerry Jr., Joanna, Jedidiah and Stacey Kowchee and Maya Kralik; uncle and aunt, James and Susan Luke with cousin/brothers, Kenneth, Albert, James Jr. and cousin/sister Marlis Luke; and aunts and uncles, David and Elsie Luke, Regina and Frank Hunter and Anna Luke; along with many other relatives. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Alaska Cook Inlet Funeral Services, located at 7216 Lake Otis Parkway. The viewing will be after the services with a potluck gathering afterwards to be disclosed.
