Victor Duane King, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on May 30, 2016. A service will be held on July 23, 2016, at 11 a.m., at 4870 N. Douglas Road, Vestaburg, MI 48891. Victor was born on March 12, 1942, in Richland, Mich. He settled in Alaska in 1973. Vic received his associates degree in science in Surveying and Topographical Drafting. He was a Certified Party Chief and took many courses continuing his education. He was a registered surveyor, a commercial fisherman, an avid bush pilot and built numerous homes. Vic was a traveling man. His work, family, passion for adventure and love of the outdoors took him all over the world. However, his heart and home were always in Alaska. He was a member of the Alaska Elks, Alaska Moose, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Alaska Snowmobiling Club and the Teamsters. Vic was a loving and devoted father. His time, money and energy went to enriching his childrens lives and giving them a piece of all of the best things life has to offer. Janet Grigg was the love of his life; she shared his spirit of adventure and devotion to family. He was driven, intelligent and had a passion of sharing experiences with others. He was a father, a partner, a brother, a friend and a gentleman. Victor is survived by his soulmate, Janet Ann Grigg; daughters, Tammy Rachelle King, Tiffany Nicole King-Clarkson and Amanda Brittany King; son, Lance Victor King; son-in-law, Kurt David Clarkson; grandsons, Austin David Clarkson and Mason King Clarkson; and brothers, Eugene Roscoe King and Steven James King. Arrangements were made with Janssens Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
