Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; parents, Bud and Betty Aulwes; and sisters, Deloris and Marge Papenfus.
He and Mary Lou drove the Alcan Highway from Minneapolis, Minn., to Anchorage, Alaska, in the summer of 1970. Soon after, he found the job of his dreams at Anchorage Refuse, where he stayed for 33 years until he retired under protest from the company. Since then he has been enjoying puttering around on the "farm" and going to bingo.
A celebration of life will be at the Chugiak Senior Center on March 13, 2018, at 5 p.m.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
