Paulette and I taught school at Lee at the same time. Always liked her, respected her, and appreciated her talent. In fact, one piece of her work hangs in my study. Every time I look at it, think of her.
She was very accomplished, received many awards and was commissioned to do various work that now hangs in the buildings and homes of many, was so very sweet and kind, with a wonderful sense of humor. Never heard her say anything unkind about anyone.
Lost contact with her after she moved to Abbeville, and was stunned when I heard that she had passed. Always thought she and Buddy were such a good looking couple, so stylish, so considerate, such a perfect match.
My deepest condolences to Paulette's family and friends. She really was one in a million. She touched many, many lives and will remain in their hearts forever.

Mrs Riley was a great person and inspiration to so many of us at Robert E Lee from 76 to 78.
I was in her art class and was in her art club and fortunate to be one of the Art Club Presidents.
So many fond memories.
God bless her and her family

So sad to hear about Mrs. Riley, she was my art teacher from 74 to 76 and a sponsor for the art club. She made her mark and influence on my life. Prayers for her family as God has brought home another angel!!!!!!

A wonderful and inspirational art teacher. Mrs. Riley not only taught art, she taught you to dig deeper inside yourself to do and be a better person. She always wanted you to try harder and instilled confidence in her students. A blessing and joy as a teacher.

Ms. Riley was my art teacher & inspiration in High School she gave us freedom and wings to fly. I have been a Art teacher now for 17 years and have told many Ms. Riley stories. I'm so sorry for your loss, however, know she will live in our hearts forever.

I was a member of Paulette's first class with the model that eventually turned into the magnet program. She was so kind, so sweet, so wonderful. Many years ago I was delivering flowers and had some stops at Jackson Hospital. I noticed the name on the card, realized it was Paulette, and decided to hand deliver it rather than leaving it at the desk like usual. We had a very nice talk in her hospital room. It's hard to type this with tears streaming down my face. She was such an early influence for me and such a nice person. I will never forget her calm demeanor, her support as my teacher, but also her beautiful smile. I guess I loved that beautiful lady.

I am so sorry. Paulette and I were the greatest unexplainable lost distance friends. I have the best and funniest memories of her in Colorado. She was the greatest. I had a chance to come and meet her and Buddy and it is one of my most favorite experiences. I am so thankful that she was surrounded by people who loved her and took care of her especially since becoming ill thank you all.
