Patrick Anthony Kelly

1970 - 2018

Patrick Anthony Kelly passed away on Sept. 8, 2018, after fighting a challenging illness that cut his life short at the age of 47. Even in his final moments, he was surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
Patrick was always a loving son, loyal brother, doting uncle and wonderful friend. Before his life-changing illness, he was a man who worked hard and played harder. He was extraordinarily devoted to his work at Alaska Industrial X-Ray, where he built a career based on a powerful work ethic that took shape in his first job as a newspaper delivery boy.
At a party or a pub, he was always one of the last to leave, sharing stories and laughs over a pint into the wee hours. Patrick was proud of his Irish heritage and took many trips back to the old sod to visit with family in County Kerry. In his free time, he was an avid fiction reader, a fan of sports from hockey to soccer, and a music lover of everything from Pink Floyd to traditional Irish folk tunes. He never met a dog or cat he didn't like, with a quality of animal magnetism that he shared with his father.
Patrick will always be remembered as a man of boundless generosity who quietly gave to his family and friends, more than we will ever know.
Patrick was a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Anchorage.
He is survived by his family in Anchorage: his parents, John and Diane; his twin brother, Sean (Melissa); brothers, Frank (Hayley), Danny (Faith) and Kevin; nephews, Owen and Quinn; and nieces, Chelsea, Kathleen and Daisy; as well as close family and relations in Ireland and extended family in the U.S.

In the words of the traditional Irish Blessing, "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick's Parish on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at 10 a.m.
