Bruce Orton Obituary
Bruce was born on Thursday, Jan. 26, 1950, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Leo Everett and Margaret Helen (Murray) Orton.
Bruce moved to Alaska in 1982 and he lived in Wasilla and Anchorage. He worked for Waddell and Reed from 1989-1993; Cal Worthington Ford from 1989 until 1989; Checker Cab from 2006 until 2009; and Yellow Cab most recently, all while writing five published novels.
His family remembered, "Dad loved his children and grandchildren and was a true Alaskan homesteader and outdoorsman."
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret.
He is survived by his sons, Clinton and Aaron Orton both of Eugene, Ore.; daughter, Amber Fokken of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and grandchildren, Caden, Maddox and Nevaeh Orton all of Eugene, Ore., and Eastan Fokken of Sioux Falls, S.D.
A family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Eugene, Ore.
Memorial donations may be given to the Orton Family at 2851 Teal, Pl. Eugene, OR 97404.

If there is just one thing that I can say to help ease your pain during this difficult time it would be to assure you that your Father was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and took every opportunity he could to brag about all of you at work. Hello, I am so sorry to hear about the tragic accident that took Bruce's life.
We never met but I believe I remember him from being a commenter on the ADN. He had the funniest comment I ever read about the the restaurant The Golden Corral when it first came to town. After hearing that he was a writer I am so anxious to read anything he wrote. Living in this
town and hearing about such tragedies as this, even when the person is a stranger breaks my heart. Would loved to have met this very funny man, condolences.
