Nancy Sue Alfaro (Benedetti), age 74, passed away Nov. 20, 2019, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born on May 9, 1945, in Fort Bragg, California, to Peter Benedetti, Sr. and Ruth Benedetti (Hyde). She graduated from Fort Bragg High School in 1963 and went to Heald Business College in San Francisco.
On July 23, 1966, she married Kenneth Alfaro in Fort Bragg. Nancy began working at Coast National Bank in the '60s and continued with the Crocker National Bank, where she met some of her most beloved lifelong friends.
Nancy and Ken moved to Delta, Colorado, in 2004 where she retired in 2006 after about 16 years as a customer service representative in the insurance industry.
Nancy was a warm-hearted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and, most importantly, friend to all. She lived to quilt and spend time with those she loved. Surely her love will live on through all of the totes, quilts and bags she created for numerous friends and family members. Nancy was a member of the S and B Quilt Guild and Red Hat Society where she enjoyed great company and many laughs. Nancy also enjoyed playing Bunco and cards with all of her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Alfaro; her mother and father, Peter Benedetti, Sr. and Ruth Benedetti; mother- and father-in-law, William and Elva Alfaro; and brother- in-law, Brad Roberts.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Amy Alfaro; brother, Peter Benedetti (Barbara); granddaughter, Kennedy Godwin; sister-in-law, Theresa Roberts; brother-in-law, Don Alfaro; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy is also survived by her beloved little dog, Raphie, and her cat, Bruce Bochy, aka Mr. B.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring in Cedaredge, Colorado. A celebration of life will also be held in the summer in Fort Bragg. Dates to be announced.
