John Lee "Johnny" Admire Obituary
The family of Johnny Lee Admire is saddened to share that he passed away on Dec. 20, 2019, due to complications from liver disease. John was born on Dec. 14, 1952, in Texas and was a butcher by trade until 1977 when he joined the USDA as a federal meat inspector. During his 35 years with the USDA, he inspected slaughter and processing plants across northern California. He loved his job and he loved sharing his butchering techniques with future young butchers. After retiring, he returned to Roundman's Smokehouse as a part-time inspector.
Fort Bragg's coastline held a special place in John's heart. He loved everything outdoors, from fishing and boating, to abalone diving and spearfishing. John was known for his hard-working qualities and equally known as a kind-hearted man who loved his family and friends and was always there to lend a supporting hand.
John met Jeanne in 1979 and in 1980 they married and honeymooned in Fort Bragg. Eight years later, they moved here and raised their family together.
He is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 40 years; his son, Joshua, and grandson, Ryley; daughter, Amanda and son-in-law, Kris; his son, Kyle (daughter-in-law Tonya); and his grandchildren, Taylor, Kyler, Aubrey and Shyanna; and the many others whom he welcomed into his family and home. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church Hall from 12 to 4 p.m. Please come and celebrate a truly amazing man with his family.
