Richard "Rick" Earl Stanley
AIKEN - In the early morning hours of January 7, 2019, God called one of his choicest servants home. He was born December 13, 1953. Rick, a stepbrother to Elvis Presley, went home to Jesus and his family.
Rick Stanley returned to Eureka First Baptist Church in Eureka, SC, five years ago where he first gave his testimony in early 1978 and preached his last sermon there on December 30, 2018. Rick was serving as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at the time of his death at the age of 65.
He is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Stanley and Bethany Stanley, and two brothers David Stanley and Billy Stanley.
Stanley attended Criswell College in Dallas Texas before earning an Associate of Divinity degree in 1986 at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
At church on Sunday mornings, Stanley taught Bible Study, led the music, and took prayer requests in the Worship Service. Pastor John L Arthur, Jr., preached three Sundays of the month and Stanley preached one Sunday each month.
Rick Stanley loved people, loved the Lord Jesus, and loved Eureka First Baptist Church. His desire was to serve his church as Associate Pastor the remainder of his life.
A Memorial Service for Rick Stanley will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Eureka First Baptist Church at 173 Johnston Highway in Eureka, SC.
Reverends John L. Arthur, Jr., Rick Gage and Jay Lowder will be officiating. Jason Sikes, Helen Crumback, Jimmy Page and Michelle Nalley will celebrate with us in special music. The Memorial Service is open to the public.
If desired, Memorial Contributions for Rick Stanley can be directed to Eureka First Baptist Church at 186 Johnston Highway, Trenton, SC 29847.
