Ernestina A. "Tina" Herrera, 56, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at the family home in Tularosa. She was born on Jan. 27, 1957, in Tularosa, to Pete and Loyola Padilla Herrera, Jr.
Survivors include her brother Louis "Mike" Herrera and his wife, Kathy; sisters Kathryn Lynn Herrera and Francisco Rayos, Denise M. Esquibel and husband ,Robert, Patricia A. Blazer-Mars and husband, Greg; nieces and nephews Clifford, Duane, Jonathan, Wyndham, Elizabeth, Jennifer, David, Amanda, Stacy and Samuel; and great-nieces and nephews Ryan, Dustin, Valen, Jade, Caeleigh, Anthony, Lilly, Mathies, Gavin, Sophia, Joseph, Colby, Timothy, Zayden, Kameron and Jaya.
She was preceded in death by her parents Loyola and Pete Herrera, Jr.
The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church, in Tularosa, by Liz and Steve Chavez.
Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with Fr. Carlos Espinoza, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Ernestina Herrera to St. Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148; Southern NM Down Syndrome Families, 1322 Nightshade Court, Las Cruces, NM 88007; or Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice, PO Drawer 29, Alamogordo, NM 88311-0029.
The Herrera family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
