Mary Grefe Obituary

On Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, Mary E. Grefe, 89, also fondly known as Marylizabeth H. Grefe, passed away in Santa Fe.
She was born in Lancaster, Pa., on May 27, 1923, to Raymond Chandler Heagey and Kathryn Weiler Heagey.
She was joined in marriage to David Goodman Simons of Lancaster. Later she married Fred W. Grefe.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother Raymond Chandler Heagey Jr.; infant son Stephen David Simons; and husbands David G. Simons and Fred W. Grefe.
Mary was an enthusiastic member of the Drexel University Alumni Association, National Aviation Hall of Fame, Friendship Force, and General Federation of Women's clubs. Mary enjoyed world-wide travel and sewing.
She is survived by her sister Julia H. Body; and children Susan Ganstrom (Norris), Samuel Simons (Peggy), Sally Witters (Robert), Scott Simons (Nancy) and stepdaughter Kathie Grefe Mongaraz (Frank). Mary is also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She had a kind smile for everyone and will be missed.
