Adela Dominguez Pino Obituary
Adela was called to eternal rest by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
She was born in Tularosa on June 5, 1923, to Dolores and Manuel Dominguez. She was a descendent of the founding fathers of Tularosa.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Alice; her mother and father, Dolores and Manuel Dominguez; sister Mercedes Rocha; brother Joe Dominguez and grandmother Mercedes Duran.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ramon; sister Juanita Diaz; daughters Anita Salazar and husband, Andy, of Bent, Sylvia Pino, of Albuquerque, Elena Sanchez and husband, David, of Tularosa, Lilly Perez and husband, Santos, of Austin, Texas; and sons Ramon Pino Jr. and wife, Mary, Abraham Pino and wife, Josie, Luis Pino and Frank Pino, all of Tularosa. She is also survived by grandchildren Andy Salazar, Art Salazar, Marie Silva, Armando Salazar, Rose Ann Ritch, Rachael Sanchez, Jessie Sanchez, Chris Pino, Monica Pino, Danny Pino, Nick Pino, Connie Steiner, Elena Duran, Lisa Brusuelas, David Pino, Julie Sanchez, Jennifer Sanchez and John Sanchez. She has 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was dearly loved. She was Grandma Della to everybody. She was a dedicated Tularosa Wildcat fan and especially enjoyed seeing her sons, grandsons and great-grandsons play.
Adela prayed devoutly every night to her favorite patron saints.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church by Mrs. Garcia.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with Father Maximilian Hottle, O.F.M. Celebrant.
Pallbearers include Dominic Sanchez, Robert Sanchez, Danny Pino, Jessie Sanchez, Andy Ray Salazar and David Pino. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. before the rosary.
The Pino family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
