Alexander Skoropad Obituary
Alex Skoropad passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, after a long and difficult illness. This strong and beautiful man was born in Aschaffenberg, Germany, Oct. 28, 1948, to Ivan and Veronica Skoropad.
August 1984 brought Alex to New Mexico where he went on to retire from Holloman Air Force Base as a master sergeant in the Air Force after 21 years of service to the country. After that, he continued his work on ejection seats with Egress until he was unable to continue.
Many, many people have fond and fun-filled memories of him, not least of all his family. His closest survivors include his loving daughters Catherine and Tanya Skoropad; Catherine's wonderful man, Ray Montgomery, whom Alex loved very much; and his grandson James Alexander Wilkins.
Alamogordo Funeral Home is taking care of his cremation arrangements, and a celebration of his life will take place at the home of Ray, Catherine and Alex on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 1 p.m.
Their home is located at 20 Oryx in Tularosa. Friends and family who wish to attend can call Ray or Cathy at 585-3566.
