Alfred Michael White Obituary
Alfred Michael "Mike" White, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at his home in Alamogordo. He was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Ocheyedan, Iowa, to Owen and LaVanche (Wallace) White.
He married Patricia Groetken White on Sept. 9, 1950, in Sibley, Iowa.
Mike began a career in law enforcement as a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff, where he worked for 22 years. He later went back to work for a private security firm in Bel Aire, Calif.
Mike and Pat moved to Alamogordo in 1994, where they became involved in St. Jude Catholic Church ministries. Mike served for many years as an usher, as well as with the Eucharistic and Hospital Ministries.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, of the family home; sons Kevin White and his wife, Wendi, and Tim White, all of Alamogordo; daughter Kathy White Winbigler and her husband, Mark, of Oceanside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at St. Jude Parish. Mass of Creation will be celebrated following the rosary at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Tom Hoffman, S.J., Celebrant.
Inurnment will follow at St. Jude Columbarium.
The White family wishes to thank Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice for their kindness, compassion and excellent care.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation has taken place locally at PCS.
