Allen Keith (Bill) Trammell Obituary

Allen Keith (Bill) Trammell of Tularosa passed away on Nov. 16, 2014.

He was born in Alamogordo on Jan. 13, 1931, to Charley Walter Trammell and Threva Mae Green.
He married the love of his life, Evelyn Marr, on Jan. 27, 1952. They had five children, Sharon Bednorz and her husband Don; Melvin Glenn Trammell and his wife Jo Lynn; Arlene Rowland and her husband Tim; Neal Trammell and his wife Cricket, and Nilda Douglas and her husband Clifton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, son Neal, sister Peggy Wilcox and his parents.

He is survived by four children, thirteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, with another expected.

Bill lived his entire life in Otero County. He and his dad were in the dairy and farming business in Tularosa. He started work for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in 1963 where he served Otero and Lincoln county farmers and ranchers as the ASCS County Manager for over 31 years. He continued to live and farm in Tularosa until his death.
Bill was a long-time member of the New Mexico Businessman's Team Roping Association. He served on the Otero County Fair Board for over 20 years and the Otero County Fair Rodeo Committee for more than 30 years. He was selected for the Ring of Honor. He was recognized by the Otero County Farm Bureau as Farmer of the Year. Cottonwood Christian Fellowship, where Bill has served as an elder for many years, honored him in 2013 as a "Living Legend." He continues to be a legend to his family and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov 22, 2014, at Cottonwood Christian Fellowship, 7035 Hwy 70 N, Alamogordo, with Pastor Robert Smith officiating.
