1923 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
Anita went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Gloucester, Va. She was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Caraway, Ark., to James and Norma Malone.
She was preceded in death by her son Scott (Scotty) Efird; her husband, Carl Efird; her parents James and Norma Malone and Garland and Opal Wyatt; and two brothers, Joe and Ed Malone.
She is survived by Dwaynne Efird and wife, Judy; Dianne Hines and husband, Larry; Phil Efird and wife, Linda; Janis McNeely; Linda and husband, Charley Price; brother James Malone and wife, Nadine; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita, Carl and their children moved to Alamogordo in 1950 from Arkansas. In 1974, they owned and operated Efirds Auto Sales (now The Auto Shop) for several years before retiring. After Carl's death and Anita's illness (Alzheimer's) progressed, her daughter Janis moved with her to Gloucester.
Carl and Anita were reunited and placed to rest until Jesus calls them forth at Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
