Ann Harris, 84, was born Nov. 22, 1922, to Antonio and Genoveva (Lopez) Madrid in Trinchera, Colo., where she was raised with nine sisters and five brothers. On Aug. 23, 1950, she was married to Marvin "Okie" Harris, and in 1954 they moved to Alamogordo to raise a family of nine boys and two girls. Ann was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 7686 and a member of the Alamogordo Moose Lodge, Chapter 1649.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Harris and wife, Cheryl, Duane Harris and wife, Elaine, Jack Harris and Jim Harris, all of Alamogordo, Steve Harris, of Henderson, Nev., Mike Harris and wife, Heather, of Denver, Colo., and Ronnie Harris, of Las Cruces; daughter Harriet Wilkinson and husband, Troy, of Bandera, Texas; five sisters, Rose Mattucci, of Albuquerque, Edna Vigil and husband, A.L. "Shorty," and Bernice, all of Trinidad, Colo., Shirley Gray and husband, Clyde, and Connie Walker, all of Denver, Colo.; brothers Johnny Madrid and wife, Angie, Steve Madrid and wife, Irene, all of Trinidad, Colo., and Ted Madrid and wife, Tillie, of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and lots of very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; three of her kids, Cecil, Diane and Dave Harris; and two brothers-in-law, Basil Mattucci and Jerry Walker.
The family extends an invitation to all friends of the family to a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2007, at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.
Cremation has taken place at PCS entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
