Anna Marie Johnson Obituary
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Across the years we have walked with you, and when our time on earth is through, in heaven too, we will hold your hand.
Our dearly loved Anna Marie Johnson, 75, entered the gates of heaven to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. Anna was born to George and Annemarie Sauter on Feb. 28, 1934, in Aalen, Germany. She met her best friend and love of her life, Burgess "Bud" Donald Johnson, in Aalen, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army in 1953. They married in 1955 and walked hand in hand the next 54 years of their lives.
Anna was devoted selflessly to her family as a housewife and mother. She enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, playing bingo and playing cards with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Johnson; four sons, Harry Johnson, Harold Johnson and Patty, Don Johnson and his wife, Dana, and George "Fred" Johnson and Sandra; two daughters, Gloria Stone and her husband, Steve, and Dianna Jennings and her husband, Richard; sister Frida Brown and her husband, Bob, and their grandson Josh Condito; grandchildren Loretta Gallagher and her husband, Chad, Harry Jr., Ashley and Steven Johnson, Melissa Flannelly and her husband, Greg, Lee, Bobby, Anna and Amber Johnson, Samantha Lam and her husband, Larry, and Arlene Smith and her husband, Chris, Wesley and Sarah Johnson, Keri Ann Estrada and her husband, Jason, Cherrie Stephens and her husband, Jimmy, and Christina Crimmins, Lindsey and Lauren Jennings; always thought of as a grandson Richard Jennings; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Annemarie Sauter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Lottie Johnson; brothers Fritz, Adolf and George Sauter; daughter-in-law Virginia "Ginny" Johnson; and grandson Bradley Donald Johnson.
Pallbearers will be sons Harold, Don and Fred Johnson; grandson Harry Johnson Jr.; son-in-law Steve Stone; and brother-in-law Bob Brown.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, with Pastor Justin Crispin officiating, at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
