Obituary Condolences

Anthony J. Romero passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, in Las Cruces after a long battle with a terminal illness. Anthony Romero loved life. His beautiful smile could warm the coldest day. His mischievous grin would make you wonder what trick was coming next.
Anthony overcame challenges that a single person should not have to face. He did so with determination to make the most of life and the courage to face the daily tribulations that plagued him. He touched the lives of numerous people throughout New Mexico. Anthony's strong will and warm heart will be cherished in our memories. Anthony was preceded in death by his brother Carlos, Grandma Lucy, Grandpa Joe and aunt Alice.
He is survived by his parents Rosalie and Pete Munoz; his uncle Sam and wife, Grace, uncle Dan and wife, Donna, grandmother Charlotte Baca, uncle Arthur and uncle Johnny, all from Albuquerque; sister Merlinda and husband, Henry, grandmother Isabel Munoz, and uncles, aunts and cousins, from Las Cruces; Debbie and her husband, Mario, from Tucson; Maria Baca, from Albuquerque; Laura Uliberrie, of Santa Fe; and uncle Johnny Baca, of Albuquerque. Anthony had many special friends, including Cheryl Petree, from Albuquerque, and Husani, who worked with Anthony in Las Cruces. Anthony has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Rosary will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 4 p.m. at the Alamogordo Funeral Home chapel. Rosary will be recited by Josie Maties Chavez followed by St. Francis Saturday Evening Choir.
The Romero family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
